How to Play Song Snap.
Ready to bring the beat and test your music knowledge? Follow these simple steps to get the game rolling!
Setting Up
Shuffle the Deck: Give the deck a good shuffle and place it in the middle of the table.
Choose a Card Master: Pick someone to kick things off as the first Card Master. This role will rotate each round.
Game Flow
Draw & Read the Prompt: The Card Master draws the top card and reads the prompt out loud. Prompts range from naming a song lyric to quick challenges like singing a line from a song by a certain artist. Get ready for some curveballs!
Race to Answer: As soon as the prompt is read, everyone else races to shout, sing, or act out the answer. Whoever snaps to it the quickest with the right response wins the card.
Win the Card: The fastest correct answer wins that round’s card. The Card Master role rotates clockwise, so everyone gets a chance to read prompts and play.
Repeat and Score: Play continues until you’ve gone through the deck or everyone is out of energy from singing and shouting! Count up your cards—whoever has the most wins the game and, of course, bragging rights.
Game Variations
Feeling creative? Try one of these twists:
Team Up: Split into teams, and each team answers as a unit. Great for big groups and adds a collaborative twist.
Silent Snap: Instead of shouting, players must snap their fingers as the answer and whisper the response. This makes for a sneaky, strategic challenge.
Lyric Duel: If two players answer at the same time, have a lyric duel! Each player takes turns singing lines from songs until one stumbles. Winner takes the card!
Tips & Tricks
Quick Thinkers Prevail: The game’s all about speed and music knowledge—don’t overthink it, just snap!
Know Your Lyrics: Sometimes it’s not about the exact answer but making the Card Master laugh with a creative response.
Watch for Curveballs: Prompts can get quirky! Keep an open mind, and don’t be afraid to get silly.
